2027 Total Solar Eclipse in Spain: Path, Times and Longest Totality
For Spain, 2027 is the most forgiving of the three events. Totality crosses southern Andalusia, Ceuta and Melilla with the Sun high enough for a comfortable view and several minutes available near the centreline.

Where totality reaches Spain
Cádiz is a useful reference inside the central path. Madrid and Seville show why a large partial eclipse is not the same as totality: both have a high Sun, but these reference points are outside the central path. Move to the path, not merely to southern Spain.

Weather considerations
Early August is commonly dry in Andalusia, although heat haze, coastal humidity and high cloud can still affect contrast. Compare inland and coastal alternatives, then use a real forecast as the date approaches rather than trusting a long-range promise.
Terrain limitations
The higher Sun makes nearby relief less likely to block the eclipse, but exact terrain still affects access and the horizon. Near the path edge, a small move can change duration and visibility status. Check the final coordinates in the planner.
Eye safety
Use certified eclipse glasses or indirect projection before and after totality. Direct viewing is safe only during totality, while the photosphere is fully covered. Protection is mandatory again as soon as the bright photosphere reappears.
How these numbers were produced
The timing and sky values below come from the planner’s Besselian-based astronomy engine at named reference coordinates. They are not a promise for every point in a province; the planner recalculates the contacts and horizon for your exact pin.
